Breakthrough for Nocom's venture into mobile travel services Nocom to supply mobile booking solution to Braathens ticketless travel product Nocom AB (publ) has signed an agreement with Braathens, Norway's largest Airline, for the development and delivery of mobile travel services. After a three month trial period, Braathens are launching a system for its Norwegian customers, where they will be able to make reservations directly from a WAP mobile phone. Nocom is responsible for the system infrastructure, applications, and concept development. The underlying technology is based on the newly launched Nocom mobile distribution platform "Mobilectrl". This service further emphasizes Braathens strategy to offer customer oriented solutions. With this service the customer has immediate access to Braathens booking system, the airline timetables, and other travel information. The system enables the customers to plan their travel both comfortably and efficiently. The traveller can make flight reservations, re-bookings, and cancellations directly from a WAP telephone or palmtop computer (PDA). This avoids telephone queues and the customer receives a direct answer. In the first phase, Braathens Norwegian users of the e-pass, which is Braathens ticketless travel system, will have access to the new service. Braathens has about 500,000 potential e-pass customers today, mostly in Norway. - The new mobile solutions give travel providers incredible possibilities of building close and cost effective relationships with their best customers.
