IAR Systems enhances tools integration for Amazon FreeRTOS

embedded world 2018, Nuremberg, Germany—February 27, 2018—IAR Systems has released a new plugin for the Internet of Things (IoT) Microcontroller Operating System Amazon FreeRTOS, providing a high level of control and visibility of applications based on Arm Cortex-M within IAR Embedded Workbench for Arm.

Amazon FreeRTOS provides tools developers need to quickly and easily deploy a microcontroller-based connected device and develop an embedded or IoT application without having to worry about the complexity of scaling across millions of devices. Together with Amazon Web Services (AWS), IAR Systems provides developers with easy access to high-performance, pre-integrated development tools for developing and debugging embedded and IoT-connected applications based on Amazon FreeRTOS.

”The increasing demand for connectivity and performance in embedded systems is driving a need for tools that can help developers maximize efficiency in creating, optimizing and debugging code,” says Stefan Skarin, CEO, IAR Systems. ”The enhanced tools integration is just a starting point in our collaboration with Amazon Web Services. Together, we provide developers with easy access to high-performance, pre-integrated development tools enabling our mutual customers to create new innovative products.”

IAR Embedded Workbench is a leading development toolchain for developing embedded applications, and offers industry-leading support for devices from major semiconductor vendors. Powerful add-ons and integrations, including easy-to-use debugging probes and integrated code analysis tools, provide additional capabilities.

The new integration is being showcased at IAR Systems’ booth at embedded world in Nuremberg, on February 27–March 1.
