  • End-to-end embedded security

How it works

When you subscribe, you get access to all the solutions and  products offered by IAR's platform.

  • Your subscription includes a combination of named users which are designated for each developer to have access to the right tools at any time and build capacity which is designated for any automated build processes or CI/CD workflows without any interruption or limitations.
  • The subscription includes all supported architectures. During the subscription term, you can change or add new architectures.
  • You can move your allocated capacity across different build pipelines to assure that you are scaling up or down according to the organization's needs, ensuring optimal resource utilization.  Higher build capacities improve build times, reduce the backlog, and enhance quality.

License options

User license – Tailored for developers
  • All named users are enabled through cloud connectivity. The product is installed locally, but your login credentials are validated through an internet connection.
  • We offer offline access with legacy versions, all while maintaining easy reassignment of named users whenever needed.
Capacity License –  optimized for  CI/CD pipelines and computational resources
  • Capacity license is enabled through cloud connectivity.
  • On-premises solutions are available if needed.

FAQ

How do user named licenses and capacity licenses complement each other in modern development workflows?

User Named Licenses provide individual developers with dedicated access, ensuring flexibility for local development with SSO/MFA security. Capacity Licenses allocate shared computing resources for automated CI/CD workflows, enabling efficient scaling. Together, they offer a comprehensive licensing model that balances personal development needs with high-performance automation.

Why is IAR transitioning from License Management System v.2 (LMS2) to License Management System Cloud (LMSC)?

LMS2 was hosted on customer infrastructure and required licenses to be locked to specific PCs, limiting flexibility. LMSC, hosted by IAR in the cloud as a service, introduces user-based and capacity-based licensing, enabling scalable, cloud-driven workflows while simplifying license management. It allows customers to run IAR tools in the cloud, on-premises, or in hybrid environments.

What are the key differences between License Management System v.2 (LMS2) and License Management System Cloud (LMSC)?

LMS2 is an on-premises system requiring customers to manage their own licensing infrastructure, locking licenses to individual PCs. LMSC, hosted by IAR in the cloud, introduces a flexible model with user-based and capacity-based licensing. It supports dynamic license allocation, better CI/CD automation, and remote access through a self-service customer portal. Customers can run IAR tools in the cloud, on-premises, or a hybrid setup.

How does License Management System Cloud (LMSC) improve license flexibility and scalability?

With LMS Cloud (LMSC), licenses are team-size and capacity-based, allowing dynamic scaling across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments. LMSC enables cloud-based license management, supports remote development, and integrates seamlessly into hybrid cloud CI/CD workflows, giving teams the flexibility to run IAR tools in any setup.

How does License Management System Cloud (LMSC) simplify license management?

LMSC, hosted by IAR as a service, provides a cloud-based platform for managing User Named and Capacity Licenses. It enables flexible license allocation, supports remote access, and integrates seamlessly with CI/CD workflows. Unlike LMS2, which required customers to maintain their own licensing infrastructure, LMSC allows customers to run the IAR toolchain in the cloud, on-premises, or in hybrid deployments, ensuring scalability and ease of use—without the need to administer the licensing infrastructure.
