IAR Systems and Samsung have had a close co-operation since 1997 when IAR Systems developed the first version of the C compiler for SAM8. The compiler for SAM8 has been continuously enhanced as part of the co-operation between Samsung and IAR Systems. Support for the S3C4XXX and S3F4XXX ARM-based SoCs from Samsung is introduced in IAR Embedded Workbench for ARM.
Samsung MCU solution covers 4-bit to 32-bit products and has a variety of product line-ups for a variety of applications. In particular, Home Appliance, Consumer, Remote Control, LCD, Telecom, Voice, and Audio products have strong features and have OTP/MTP. |

SAM8 |
| The SAM8 family includes the S3C8 series that utilizes register-oriented architecture for more efficient CPU performance. A 16-bit address bus supports both program memory and external data memory operations, while a separate 8-bit register bus carries addresses and between the CPU and the internal register file.
The S3C9 series is based on the S3C8 architecture with a reduced instruction set allowing for even greater cost efficiency. |
